Client refers to the individual or business specified in any quotation, estimate, or booking confirmation. Additionally, any authorised delegate of that Client whom House Clearance Scotland has either proposed or consented to deliver Services to, is governed by these Terms and Conditions.


Property denotes the specific location, area, or venue where the Client has directed the tasks to be executed. This can encompass several sites.


House Clearance Scotland Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “House Clearance Scotland”) Is a company registered in Scotland with Company Number SC631703 and whose registered office is at Summit House, 4-5 Mitchell Street, Edinburgh, Scotland, EH6 7BD.


Services refer to the tasks undertaken, encompassing activities such as removal, clearance, recycling, cleaning, and destruction, as offered by House Clearance Scotland to the Client, detailed in a quotation, estimate, or booking affirmation, or as mutually consented, whether in written form or through verbal agreement.

Our Services are carried out on the following basis:

  1. All work and services undertaken by House Clearance Scotland are subject to these terms and conditions. They are deemed to have been accepted by the Client by accepting the quotation and prior to the services taking place.

  2. The Client agrees that prior to the Services being carried out, all items not to be cleared have been taken from the Property beforehand or are clearly identified as "not to be taken" to avoid any confusion. Anything else will be cleared and reused accordingly.

  3. By accepting these terms and conditions the Client warrants House Clearance Scotland the full authority to collect and recycle/reuse of the contents of the Property as seen fit, through donation, eco-friendly recycling, resale or reuse.

  4. Any quotation is conditional upon the job being as described by the Client or viewed by House Clearance Scotland employees. Should House Clearance Scotland subsequently discover that the job is not as described and will require larger costs than the information provided, the quotation will be adjusted accordingly.

  5. The Client shall indemnify House Clearance Scotland from any cost or expense suffered or incurred from any third party because of the Client not having the authority to clear the Property.

  6. The Client confirms that all paperwork, computer hardware or the likes that House Clearance Scotland remove from the Property is not of a confidential nature and can be recycled through the normal channels. Any items containing confidential information which requires shredding or drives wipes should be identified. The Client shall indemnify House Clearance Scotland from any claim of data breach that may arise from any third party because you have not taken the necessary precautions regarding data protection.

  7. The Client must inform House Clearance Scotland of any items within the Property which contains hazardous materials or hazardous waste, i.e Asbestos, Sharps, Chemical or Biological Waste.

  8. House Clearance Scotland will endeavour to undertake the clearance on the date and time agreed but there may be delays due to circumstances beyond control, in this case the Client will be informed, and if necessary, arrange a revised date as soon as possible.

Payment Policy

For domestic clearances payment must be made prior or on the day of completion of the clearance by card payment or bank transfer, via our online payment system or unless otherwise agreed. All costs are subject to VAT. For commercial clearances payment terms will be as agreed between House Clearance Scotland and the Client.

Cancellation Policy:

Our cancellation policy at House Clearance Scotland Ltd is designed to ensure transparency and fairness for both our valued customers and our operations. We understand that circumstances can change, and we want to provide clear guidelines for cancellations.

A cancellation of 20% may be applicable depending on the timeframe of cancellation. We review it on a case basis, as we understand that bereavements and moving home are emotional times and we wish to be respectful and compassionate.

Privacy Policy:

The team at House Clearance Scotland respects every individual's right to personal privacy. Any images used for marketing purposes will not contain any personal information of the Client. The Client should inform House Clearance Scotland should they not wish their Property to be photographed for use by House Clearance Scotland Marketing.
